99 Walks (a business division of Macaroni Kid, LLC)
Thank you for being part of the 99 Walks community. We value our relationship with you and take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit the 99 Walks website, sign up for our challenges or subscribe to our newsletters and what we do with that information.
Many privacy policies are dozens of pages long. We have tried to keep it simple and avoid as much “legalese” as possible. Let’s start with our three top policies:
First, we will not sell any personal information we have about you.
Second, we will comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
Third, we will take all reasonable steps to ensure that your personal information remains personal.
Now, let’s get into some of the details.
WHAT INFO DO WE COLLECT?
When you visit the 99 Walks website, email us or sign up for a 99 Walks’ challenge, we may collect certain information about you including:
Your telephone number;
Your IP address;
Credit card or other payment information;
The number of miles you’ve walked in connection with the month’s challenge; and
Anything else you choose to include in your communication with us.
WHAT DO WE DO WITH THAT INFO?
We use the personal info we collect in connection with the performance of our responsibilities to you including:
Providing products, services or information;
Delivering on our obligations to you for the sale of goods and services
Informing you about new challenges and products that we believe may be of interest to you;
Managing your account, your challenges, and your subscription;
Communicating with you about logistical issues, such as product delivery;
Responding to your inquiries;
Correcting problems on the website;
Prohibiting inappropriate, disruptive or illegal conduct.
We may, from time to time, also use information we collect in our marketing programs to provide you with information about products and services we offer which may be of interest to you. We may use the information that you’ve shared to tailor those advertisements and offers to those that we specifically believe may be of interest to you.
We may use non-personal information for research and product development.
We may use the information to help us develop products that we think will be of interest to our users. When we do so, the information and data we collect and use for any such purpose will not include any personal identification.
In furtherance of these efforts, we may, from time to time, conduct surveys in which we ask our users and members specific questions. Participation in these surveys will always be optional.
From time to time, 99 Walks might run sweepstakes and contests. If you choose to participate in sweepstakes or contest, we will ask for contact information which we then might use to contact you about that sweepstakes or contest and to contact you for other promotional, marketing and business purposes. However, we will always make that clear in the rules and will provide you with the option to opt-out of any communications that are not related to awarding prizes.
Invite a Friend or Share Content
99 Walks may enable you to “refer a friend,” invite a friend to become part of your 99 Walks team or send them other specific information or offers. When you do so, your friend’s email will be used strictly for that purpose and will not be used by us for any other purpose.
99 Walks may use the personal information we collect in other ways for which we have a legitimate interest including research, fraud protection or other ways that we specifically disclose to you at that time and to which you consent.
WHO DO WE SHARE THIS INFO WITH?
That information will be shared with the members of the 99 Walks team who need that information to perform the tasks described above. We may also share that information with third party partners and suppliers who we retain to help in the work we do to the extent it is necessary for their work on behalf of 99 Walks.
Certain information might also be saved to a third-party contact/customer management site to enable us to deliver the services and products you have requested and to enable us to send you inspiration and offers that we believe will be of interest.
In the unlikely event that we are called upon by a law enforcement agency to disclose information about you we will do so only upon presentation of that agency with a warrant.
In the unlikely event that you engage in harassing, disparaging or dangerous conduct within the 99 Walks community, either online or off, we may share certain information with companies and agencies necessary to help curtail that conduct which may include email provides, internet service providers, law enforcement agencies or others.
